Prof. Sanjay Menon teaches leadership, organizational behavior, and human resource management courses in the Department of Management and Marketing at Louisiana State University Shreveport. Following an undergraduate degree in engineering and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Prof. Menon received his PhD in Organizational Behavior from McGill University. He currently serves as Dean of Graduate Studies at LSUS.
He has international work experience in a large multinational in India and has consulted with diverse organizations in Canada. He is a life member of the International Society for the Study of Work and Organizational Values (ISSWOV) and has served as its president. He has served as the director of the Shipley Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Clarkson University where he set up an Educational Leadership Academy for leadership development among school principals. He is actively involved in training educational leaders and has developed several case studies of successful turnaround schools in Louisiana. He is currently the director of the LSUS India Studies program and holds the India Studies Super Professorship. Prof. Menon's primary areas of research are employee empowerment, charismatic leadership, and workforce diversity. He has presented his research at many national conferences, as well as at international conferences in Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, Canada, Turkey, Israel, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Singapore, India, Brazil, the UK & the US. He has developed a measure of psychological empowerment in English, French, and Spanish, which has been validated by research in Australia, Canada, Greece, India, South Africa, and Venezuela. He has published in the area of work design in developing countries and the outlets for his research in organizational studies include Human Resource Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Applied Psychology: An International Review, Canadian Journal of Behavioral Science, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, International Journal of Cross-Cultural Management, Journal of Entrepreneurship, South Asian Journal of Global Business Research, and the International Journal of Manpower. His research has been cited in over 1800 publications. Prof. Menon has also developed a copyrighted quantitative peer evaluation method for assessing individual contribution in teamwork situations, which is used in many universities in the U.S. and Canada.
